Michigan Campaign for Justice - Fighting for a fair and effective public defense system

Staff

Laura Sager is the director of the Campaign for Justice and is responsible for leading the Campaign's broad-based coalition toward legislative reform.  Previously, she served as the national campaign director for Families Against Mandatory Minimums, leading FAMM’s media, coalition-building, and legislative campaign for reform of mandatory minimum drug sentences.

Stephanie Chang serves as the deputy director and works with the Campaign communications team and assists with coalition building and public education efforts. Stephanie is a University of Michigan-Ann Arbor graduate, with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Asian Pacific Islander American (APIA) Studies.

 
Kat Birrell is the program coordinator and is responsible for Campaign program support and outreach assistance.  She graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Communication and a degree in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy from James Madison College.
 
 
Kaye McDuffie is a consultant serving as Senior Field Organizer. She coordinates and assists with coalition building and management, volunteer management and case profile management. Kaye works as a health educator and trainer, with a history of advocacy for youth and women.
 
 
Siobhan O'Rourke is the Northern Michigan summer intern and helps with outreach efforts in the Upper Peninsula.  Siobhan currently attends Northern Michigan University and will graduate with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Criminal Justice.
