House Bill 5676, which would create the Michigan Public Defense Act, was introduced on December 9 by Representatives Constan (D-16) and Amash (R-72). On December 14 in Detroit, the House Judiciary Committee held its first hearing on this legislation. Thank you to those that attended the hearing!
